Smallmouth
and Largemouth Bass fishing in Ny
Smallmouth bass fishing the eastern shore of Lake Ontario is incredible-
second to none. There's quantity as well as quality. In New York
state the Bass season opens the third Saturday in June- just after
the spawning typically takes place. Drifting, trolling or casting
can all be effective methods. Spinners, jigs or stick-baits will
all do well for bass. Tipping
jigs or spinners with either shiners or worms often produces better
with, than without. We personally prefer drifting or slow trolling
spinner/worm combos in 20-30 feet of water near transition zones.
Once you've located productive water it is a good idea to use a
marker buoy on the spot- it pays to work that area over thoroughly.
We have loads of great spot from Oswego to Henderson to fish. Catching
25-50 smallmouth bass 3-5 pound range is common. Almost all the
fish we catch are released so there's always an abundance for every
trip.
Adirondack Lakes and ponds offer great opportunity for largemouth
bass. Whether it's crank-baits or rubber worms on drop offs or weed
edges you can count on some serious action in all types of conditions.
Come give it a try on Lake Ontario or around Tug Hill. We can provide
all the gear for you trip of a lifetime. For more information on
bass fishing please check out our sister site www.adirondackguiding.com.
